Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
i found someone to carry me home - we are young, fun.
for @starcloud-nova. inspired by that ask where you talked about kazuki and sachi sharing headphones! it gave me such a vivid mental image and i wanted to draw a little thing for you.
it is insane how fucking tiny these buttons are did they not like. consider the concept of UI scaling like at all. did they not consider what theyd do if someone had a big monitor. what is this shit
why asre there two post buttons. why do i get little numbers next to ‘home’ and 'following’ when btoh are giving me the exact same information. why is it that when you open the account view you have the exact same information on both sides of your screen. why is it that the activity popup obscuires the dashboard now instead of the 1000000 miles of empty space on my god damn desktop. did they not consider the concept of UI scaling at all?????
when i first saw people p[ostp about this i thought maybe they were overreacting because they hate twitter and change but like. whatever you think abotu the concept of 'putting all this shit on the left side of your screen’ as a bold UI innovation or whatever in concept this shit is like. just straight up unfinished. like i legitimately dont understand how this was considered ready to roll out to users
why does the activity popup open on the ONE part of my screen i DONT want to be obscured when im using tumblr dot com!!
no seriously why is this information displayed twice one inch apart. im not being snarky when i say this genuinely just seems actually unfinished
dont talk to me or my three (3) 'activity’ buttons that show up when you’re already on the activity page ever again
maybe i am too old for tiktok
My son once came back from a record shop visit with his uncle and with wide eyes and excited smile presented me with a cassette tape. “Look what I found!” As though he’d unearthed ancient pottery at a dig sight.
I love it. I love when my kids discover something that I take for granted. I hear songs with new ears because they are in a state of wonder. My son played me “Paint it Black” the other day, I’m like yeah Rolling Stones so what? And then I see his face and that LOOK like he just discovered sunsets and he’s like yeah but listen to this part, listen to the guitar right here - and I hear a song anew. Like watching a puppy see a bird for the first time, and oh oh right yeah birds are fucking amazing, forgot about that.
#finally a comment that doesn’t have disdain for kids discovering old things #isn’t it cool that someone didn’t know Queen and they got to hear it for the first time? #isn’t it cool to witness that excitement?
I think this is largely why “react” channels on YouTube have become so popular. Watching someone experience something you love for the first time is exciting. Rediscovering that thing through their eyes is also exciting.

We can buy each other checkmarks now? Tumblr sanctioned violence
It’s unchecked violence.
i think the violence is very checked, actually
perhaps a bit too checked
Okay listen
nothing unsettles me more than like a good fic on ao3 with no opening notes and no end notes. nothing but story. who are you? where are you writing from. are you ok. who hurt you
#i click onto the author’s dashboard and open all their other fics looking for notes on them#they are all similarly blank#i go to the author profile. it tells me the author joined in 2014 and nothing else#they have no bookmarks. they have one gift and it’s a bts fic from orphan_account. none of their own fics are bts fics.#this fic has altered me. i leave an unhinged comment then bookmark it and go stare out the window // via @elegantlyloquacious
grown adults will get on the internet and say things like “why is this movie about the protagonist, the titular character?” just walk into the ocean i cannot help you
“That villain was so problematic”
Yeah it was their job
